BRUNO: NO BAD BLOOD BETWEEN BOSS & ME

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

BRUNO FERNANDES has denied he has lost faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and insists there is no crisis at Manchester United.

Fernandes came out fighting, denying claims he was substituted at half-time during United’s 6-1 mauling by Tottenham because of a row with the manager.

The United playmaker was reported to have lost it in the dressing-room, with the team trailing 4-1 and down to 10 men following Anthony Martial’s red card.

Fernandes was subbed at the break, along with Nemanja Matic, before United caved in and conceded two further goals to slump to their biggest defeat for nine years.

That led to suggestions Fernandes, 26, had lost confidence in boss Solskjaer, but the Portugal international hit back, claiming such allegations are a blatant attempt to destabilise the club.

“First they said it was an argument with teammates, now with Solskjaer,” said Fernandes.

“I believe they want to disrupt the group, but it’s not true. Don’t use my name to cause trouble at United.

“True, I was replaced at half-time and I was unhappy, but I understood and did not say anything harmful. Solskjaer texted me later and wished me luck with Portugal.

“I’m grateful to him – he’s the one who took a chance on me and his tactics are perfect for me.

“The atmosphere is good and we are ready to respond in the next game.”

United, currently 16th in the Premier League after taking just three points from their first three games, travel to Newcastle tomorrow, needing a win to ease the growing pressure on their under-fire manager.
