The Canaries kick ck off at Rotherham today with just one win from their first four games. Successive 1-0 -0 defeats against Bournemouth uth and Derby have left the e promotion promong. favourites trailing.
A missed penalty y from a sprawling Teemu mu Pukki ( above) ) against Derby cost t the Canaries dear. r. Now defender Gibson on has called on City’s ’s attacking players to start converting ng chances into goals.
The 27-year-old said:
“That is this league. You can be super dominant but you’ve got to be ruthless.
“It doesn’t matter what team you are, how much money you have, the level of players you are – anyone that comes into this league is never going to steamroller it.
“It’s never as simple as people ple think it will be, that’s just not how the Championship pans out. That’s the Champ ion - ship , that’s the beauty of it, t, every game is completely - different “Against Derby I felt t we were really dominant - but we just t weren’t quite clinical enough with that final pass, that final cross. We were lacking that final bit of quality that we know we have.
“That’s the real frustration but we’ve just got to too keep working really hard – and I have no doubt it will come.” Gibson (above) is attempting to rebuild his career at Carrow Road under Daniel Farke (left) after being frozen out at Burnley. A loan spell will become per permanent rmanent at the end of the s season if he impresses. And And, with Ben Godfrey now at Everton E and fellow centre- b back Timm Klose back in S Switzerland with Basel, the do door is open. Gibson said he is relishing ishing the prospect of taking on R Rotherham tod today.
He sa said: “They’ll be physical. We know they’re going to g give 110 per cent and chase every lost cause. They are going to get after every ball down the channels.
“We’ ll have to roll our sleeves up and win the battle and earn the right to play our football.
“We’re not going to be able to stroll out there and play all the way to a 3-0 win, it just doesn’t ha happen like that. “You have to be disciplined and win the battle to earn the right to play the football you want to play. Hopefully we’ll be able to do that as the game settles down.”
Norwich winger Onel Hernandez faces a lengthy lay-off following surgery on a hip problem. The Cuban, 27, is expected to be out for up to 12 weeks. Hernandez was last season hampered by knee problems which required two operations.
