Jess a quickie...

Shirley Ballas had dished out some strictly essential advice for EastEnders’ Maisie Smith: You can foxtrot oscar if you’re going to be cocky.

OK, that wasn’t exactly how she said it, but that was the gist.

The 19-year-old Walford lass previously won the Strictly Children In Need special, but according to Shirley that doesn’t mean she’ll waltz into the final this time.

“If I was Maisie I wouldn’t take anything for granted because doing one dance is not like doing 10 weeks,” she said. “You’ve got to be there and got to be full-on.”

I agree with the sentiment, Shirls, but your choice of words is sloppy.

If Maisie were any more “full-on”, Elstree’s energy output would render Hinkley Point redundant.

Sky History was rather aptly forced to axe its new show The Chop this week – after viewers spotted something possibly Heil vile about its star’s tattoo. Yep, woodsman Darren Lumsden had “88” slap bang in the middle of his face – a number used by white supremicists to denote HH, or Heil Hitler (as H is the eighth letter of the alphabet). Darren insisted everyone was barking up the wrong tree... as it was actually the year of his dad’s death.

The Nazi nasty saga may have ended there – except for one thing. Darren’s yet to comment. But, yes, you’ve twigged it, his dad Trevor turned up looking particularly evergreen for someone who’s been pushing up daisies for 32 years.

What does this picture say to you?

Why, get out and exercise your right to a democratic vote, of course.

Indeed, according to Joker Jared Leto, that was the message behind this revealing bathroom selfie he posted before next month’s US elections.

I suppose he does have a right to bare arms... and his torso as well if he wants.
