CAN YOUR ART HELP TO INSPIRE KINDNESS?
Does your art have the power to inspire people to join the British Red Cross kindness movement?
The charity launched an exciting competition to find the UK’s next up-and-coming artist and is calling on the public to show their strength and power to make a difference through art.
Actor Russell Tovey will be judging the competition alongside Instagram artist Sophie Tea, who is known for her brightly-coloured, mood-boosting paintings.
The competition is open to all ages and abilities and the winner will see their entry emblazoned on the charity’s latest range of ‘I have the Power’ merchandise, and sold online in the run-up to Christmas, with proceeds raised going to the British Red Cross.
Russell said: “So many of us have felt powerlessness during this crazy year, so it’s great to see art being used as a way to empower and inspire people – and help everyone realise that they too are equipped to help others.
“I’m excited to see what everyone will submit.” British Red Cross boss Zoë Abrams says: “We are delighted to be working with artists across the UK to help spread the important message that everyone has the power to help someone in crisis. “The British Red Cross has supported people for over 150 years, and now as we face a challenging winter, we want these inspirational artworks to encourage people to take action and join our kindness movement.” To enter, share an image of your design including the words ‘I have the power’ on Instagram, tagging @BritishRedCross and using #PowerOfKindness.
