IS EQUITY RELEASE RIGHT FOR YOU? SPEAK TO THE EXPERTS TO FIND OUT

-

If you’re exploring equity release for the first time or already considering it as an option, it’s likely you’ll have some questions.

The Mirror Equity Release Advice Service, provided by HUB Financial Solutions, is here to help you decide if equity release is the right move for you.

WHAT IS EQUITY RELEASE?

Equity release is way of releasing tax free cash from the value of your home to spend on almost anything you choose.

COULD I QUALIFY FOR EQUITY RELEASE

Equity release is available to those aged 55 or over with a UK property worth at least £70,000.

WILL I OWN MY HOME?

With a lifetime mortgage (which is a loan secured against your home), you can be reassured that you will always own your home. However with a home reversion plan the provider will own all or part of your property. You are able to live in your home for the rest of your life or until you move into long-term care.

CAN I MOVE HOUSE?

Generally yes. You can transfer many products to a new home, as long as your new property offers the security your provider would need.

With a lifetime mortgage, if you’re moving to a property with a lower value, you may have to repay some of the outstanding loan.

HOW MUCH CAN I RELEASE?

The amount you can release depends on your age and the value of your property.

IS EQUITY RELEASE SAFE?

Yes. As part of the service we will only recommend products that meet the standards of the Equity Release Council. Their aim is to ensure that equity release products are safe and reliable.

For added peace of mind and security, we are also regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. You can be rest assured you’re in safe hands.

HOW WILL EQUITY RELEASE AFFECT YOUR FAMILY

Equity release will reduce the value of your estate, so we would always encourage you to discuss your decision with your family. With some products you can protect a percentage of your home’s future value, which can then be passed to your loved ones when you pass away.

No - there’s no pressure to go ahead. We will give you all the information you need to decide if equity release is the option for you.
