IT’S NOT MY CUP OF TEY
Canaries ace Alex: There’s so many injuries due to the tough schedule.. thank god I don’t play every week
ALEX TETTEY is delighted he has hardly played for Norwich this season – otherwise he would probably be injured like many of his team-mates.
The Canaries stayed top of the Championship despite Max Biamou’s late leveller and the absence of 13 players.
Twelve of those, including top-scorer Teemu Pukki and goalkeeper Tim Krul, were out because of injuries.
And Tettey is convinced it is down to a crazy schedule in the time of the coronavirus.
The veteran midfielder went full Jurgen Klopp after completing only his second league start of the season.
“Personally, I’m just thanking god I’m not playing every game because it’s just madness,” said the 34-yearold. “Those who have played all the games until now and are not injured, well done, fair play to them because it will come to a point when your body will break down.
“We don’t want to be moaning all over the place but we are human beings. I’m not a top doctor but it’s not rocket science that we need protect the players.”
Norwich are hoping Max Aarons has not joined the absentee list after the right-back was crocked in the build-up to Biamou’s 89thminute leveller.
He hurt himself lunging into a challenge and stayed down, playing Biamou onside as fellow sub Tyler Walker set him up for a tap-in.
That cancelled out Mario Vrancic’s 27th-minute penalty ( right) conceded by Ben Wilson, another player on the pitch through a team-mate’s misfortune. He started a to league game for Coventry for the first time after first-choice goalkeeper Marko Marosi suffered a horrific facial injury in midweek at Cardiff. Wilson was convinced he was hard done by when Przemyslaw Placheta went down and a spot-kick awarded.
He said: “I thought to myself I’m going to save this and run straight to the referee and go, ‘ There’s justice’, but unfortunately it went in.”
Marosi will be sidelined for weeks, giving Wilson the chance of a rare run of games.
The 28-year-old has been at 10 current Football League clubs but never managed more than eight appearances for any of them.

GLAD MAX Coventry sub Max Biamou denied the Canaries at the end a short-term deal and was on the bench. Wilson said: “He’s great to have around but the gaffer told me, ‘Play well and the shirt is yours’.
