NOW you’re talking... Sir David Attenborou­gh, Stephen Fry and Joanna Lumley are the nation’s most-loved wafflers.

A plummy tone is the accent people can listen to for longest, the Irish accent is most attractive while a Brummie dialect is the most boring.

TV naturalist David, inset, was named the “best voice” in the survey of 2,000 people to launch a voice- activated Virgin TV 360 platform.

More than a third also admitted they became “posher” when talking on their smart devices.

Jennifer Smith, professor of sociolingu­istics at the University of Glasgow, said this “tech tongue” made us talk “slower, more clearly, and even quite posh”.
