- BY DARREN LEWIS

AARON CRESSWELL admitted West Ham’s wasteful finishing cost them against Manchester United. Pablo Fornals, Sebastian Haller and Jarrod Bowen blew chances to add to Tomas Soucek’s first-half strike as fans returned to the London Stadium.

Paul Pogba’s wonder strike sparked a revival, with Mason Greenwood and substitute Marcus Rashford completing the comeback. “I think if we had come in and we had been

OLE FEELS JOLLY United manager Solskjaer is a happy man as he walks off the pitch after his side’s fightback 3-0 up at half-time, it would have been no surprise,” said Hammers left-back Cresswell (below).

“The first half, we could have scored a lot of goals. We created a load of chances. In the second half, their substitutes changed the game.”

Cresswell echoed d the concern of boss s David Moyes that a long clearance from United goalkeeper Dean Henderson (above, foiling Haller) had gone out of play before the move continued which led to Pogba’s goal.

“I thought it was out,” said Cresswell.

“I’ve tried to look at it back.

I mentioned it to the linesman, and he said it would go to VAR.

“I said to him, ‘Unless there is a camera along the line, you’re not going to get a cle clear view of if it has g gone out’.

“The one (replay) I’ve seen, it was kind of at an angle w where you can’t re really tell, but at the time I thought it was out.

“I kind of stopped, waiting for the linesman’s flag. I think there were even a few shouts on the line, but we can’t just stop.

“Before we know it, the game has carried on and the ball is back in the net 10 seconds later.”
