HARRY AIMS TO GET TOFF AND REBUILD

- BY LIZ BYRNES JOSH KOROMA (HUDDERSFIELD)

HARRY TOFFOLO is hopeful that hard work will pay off for Huddersfield and inject some consistency into their season.

Toffolo scored the second goal – his first at the John Smith’s – as they bounced back in style from their midweek drubbing at Cardiff.

Victory moved the Terriers up to 13th, although a knee injury to captain Chris Schindler cast a shadow with manager Carlos Corberan facing an anxious wait.

They host bottom club Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow and leftback Toffolo (above) said: “It’s important to build on this. We are working tirelessly every day.

“I hope we can continue to do that and have a strong mentality which breeds from the manager and coaching staff. We want to make sure we do ourselves justice and do the club justice.”

Huddersfield produced a dazzling team performance, with Josh Koroma scoring a beauty and setting up Toffolo for his goal.

They cut through QPR at will, with Koroma and Isaac Mbenza enjoying space and Lewis O’Brien and Pipa turning in star displays.

Toffolo added: “Lewis and Josh are fantastic players. Josh has had a phenomenal season and if he can continue to do that it’s going to help.”

QPR were always second-best and boss Mark Warburton had no complaints after they crashed to their third defeat on the bounce.

The Hoops are 18th after taking just four points from six games and travel to Millwall tomorrow.

Warburton said: “I think it was the day the games we’ve played caught up with the squad. We’ve got to make sure we give them as much rest as possible.” HUDDERSFIELD: Hamer 7, Pipa 7 (Bacuna 73, 6), Schindler 7 (Edmonds-Green 79, 6), Sarr 7, Toffolo 8, O’Brien 8, Hogg 7, Eiting 7, Mbenza 7 (Duhaney 87), Campbell 7 (Ward 73, 6), Koroma 8
