MARK’S TWIN IT TO WIN IT

Robins starts reaping the benefits of switch to Sky Blue front two

COVENTRY CITY

MARK ROBINS may be forced to permanently ditch his lone-striker policy after seeing what the power of two can do.

Tyler Walker and Max Biamou arrived in the Championship with the Sky Blues from different directions but appear to have gelled instantly, and both were on target against Rotherham.

Frenchman Biamou was recruited in 2017 after a year playing nonLeague at Sutton United, while Walker joined from Nottingham Forest this summer. They are trying to work on their partnership, although a packed schedule leaves them little tme to do so. Biamou, who has taken Walker, 24 ( below, right), under his wing, said: “I try to create some links with him but it’s hard because we haven’t a lot of training sessions. “I know how he is playing, so I try to play how he wants, to get the best out of him and I try to manage my game to be good and help him to be good too.” Manager Robins, who usually goes with one up front, is delighted with what he is seeing. He said: “Tyler is a one- in- twogames goal-scorer. That’s what I saw in him and he’s still very young, at a very good age to play in the

Championship and is also physically starting to mature.

“He is good at anticipating and hungry to score goals but still not up to speed. Max has been with us all the way through the journey and supporters love him. He puts in a shift, is a good finisher and he and Tyler complemented each other really well.”

Leo Ostigard scored City’s third and Daniel Barlaser’s late penalty gave the Millers a barely-derved consolation goal.

Rotherham boss Paul Warne said: “I can handle losing but I can’t handle the performance.”
