SEAN MORR THAN MAKES UP FOR SLIP

- BY JOHN WRAGG

CARDIFF captain Sean Morrison had a nightmare - then turned himself into a hero.

He scored an own goal and gave away a penalty. But the in-form Bluebirds would not lie down and Morrison grabbed the winner.

Cardiff got a break when Stoke’s impressive Tyrese Campbell went off injured and a bigger one when the man who replaced him, Sam Vokes, had a penalty saved.

It was Campbell’s cross which had given the Potters a 25 25th-minute lead when Morrison put it into his own net from two yards (above).

Cardiff, who had zoomed up the table w with three successive win wins, heaved a sigh of relief when Campbell went off injured in the 55th minute.

Stoke could have made it easier for themselves. James Chester headed against the bar and Sam Vokes, on for Campbell, had a 58th-minute penalty saved.

Morrison (above) was to blame for the spot-kick having given Nick Powell a shove, but suddenly Cardiff revived and chalked up their fourth successive win.

Stoke looked as if they were heading for second in the Championship at half-time.

But poor defending and a missed header by Nathan Collins allowed sub Robert Glatzel, who had a big impact, to score a 66th minute equaliser. From almost the same place at the far post an unmarked Morrison nodded in the winner.
