FRANKLY, MY BEES LIKE A CHALLENGE
THOMAS FRANK insists his Brentford side are relishing their chance to take on the Championship’s big-hitters.
The Bees extended their unbeaten run to 11 games with an impressive victory at Nottingham Forest.
And sixth-placed Brentford have a perfect opportunity to continue their surge up the table with five of their next six league games, starting with tomorrow’s trip to Watford, against teams currently in the top seven.
“I’m really looking forward to the Watford game,” said boss Frank.
“I think it’s going to be a top game for the neutral between two teams who want to dominate the ball and control the game.
“The squad is full of confidence and they should be. We’re in a good place but we need to keep going, it’s relentless.”
Henrik Dalsgaard headed a 15th-minute opener for the visitors and substitute Josh Dasilva curled in a sumptuous second.
Championship top scorer Ivan Toney claimed the third, his 15th goal of the campaign, with a wellcontrolled half-volley (above).
There was a star performance from midfielder Vitaly Janelt, 22. “He’s top, exactly what I want from a No.6,” said Frank. “He helps massively. When we’ve maybe the best No.6 in the league out – Christian Norgaard - it seems like we’re not missing him.”
Forest, outside the bottom three on goal difference only, grabbed a late consolation with a Joe Worrall header and had Anthony Knockaert dismissed when a dive brought a second yellow card.
Skipper Worrall admitted: “We seem to be in a rut at the moment, home truths have to be dished out.”
