Emma’s reality check as The Voice returns
EMMA Willis says she will never do I’m a Celebrity because it grosses her out – but she fancies Strictly.
The 44-year-old ITV presenter, who is gearing up for the return of The Voice, insisted there was no chance of her following close friend and 2020 winner Giovanna Fletcher in becoming a campmate.
She said: “I would do Strictly. That’s the only one for me of that type of thing, bugs are not.
“I could not do I’m A Celebrity, I take my hat off to anybody that goes there. What it would take for me to do Strictly would be having that time off during the end of the year, that’s it.
“I think Bill [Bailey] and Jamie [Laing], their kind of start are where still you there go at with the no end, ability that’s and a really nice little adventure.”
Emma, married to Busted bassist Matt Willis, 37, also says she was “desperate” to hug contestants on the new series of The Voice.
But Covid- 19 rules now limit how she can celebrate with those who get through and comfort those who don’t. Emma said: “There’s all this virtual high-five Bluetooth, virtual hugs. Anything.
“You know all you want to do is give someone a hug to celebrate. I’m really sorry but we can’t. I’m desperate. I mean, for the first six weeks, it’s all I do, isn’t it?” Singer Anne-Marie, 29, is a new coach and will take her seat alongside Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs and will. i. am. And coaches also now have a “Block” button – which gives them one chance to block a rival coach as they vie for talent. Praising Olly, 36, for making filming go with a bang, Emma said: “Olly excelled himself. He kept the energy going. Normally, y you have 400 people in the audience t to feed off. To not have them, it w was really apparent.” Referri Referring to Anne- Marie, who repla replaces Meghan Trainor in the pan panel, she added: “If it’s a different dif ferent personality the dynamic might change a little bit but A Anne-Marie just fitted in b brilliantly.”
