LUKE JEPHCOTT is on course to beat his goals target for the season after scoring twice at Charlton.
The 20-year-old twice put Ryan Lowe’s Plymouth ahead in taking his tally to 12, having aimed to reach double figures by the turn of the year.
The Argyle striker said: “It’s a good feeling. It’s good that the manager was a striker, we are learning new things off him every day in training.”
Chris Gunter (above) and Marcus Maddison equalised for Charlton, who moved into the play-off places.
WES BURNS hopes his goal will keep him part of the Fleetwood front-line.
The return of rightback Tom Edwards allowed Burns to push forward and the wideman put his side ahead before Mikael Mandron levelled.
Burns said: “I’m more attack-minded. I’ve always been an attacker growing up. I can fill in whenever I’m needed but I do prefer playing further forward.
“Tom is back now and I know that, if I want to play on the front line, I need to add goals and assists. Today I’ve got a goal so hopefully I can stay on that front line.”
LINCOLN manager Michael Appleton says his players must deal with rising expectation levels after going top of League One.
The Imps last played in the second tier in 1961 and Appleton knows the pressure will now start to build.
He said: “As we are there now, expectation levels will rise a bit. We need to meet those expectations head on and try to keep improving.”
Brennan Johnson struck twice with Remy Howarth, Anthony Scully and Harry Anderson also netting.
