A PANICKED Jessie J had to dash to hospital on Christmas Eve when she lost her hearing in one ear and could not walk in a straight line.

The Price Tag and Flashlight singer, 32, said it “came out of nowhere” and doctors diagnosed Meniere’s disease.

The inner ear condition – which causes vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss and a feeling of pressure deep inside the ear – left her unable to perform.

Doctors prescribed medication and advised Jessie to rest, and she has since recovered enough to “bear” singing again.

Telling followers of her ordeal on social media, she said: “I woke up and felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear.

“Couldn’t walk in a straight line. Basically, I got told I had Meniere’s. I know a lot of people suffer from it.

“I’ve actually had a lot of people reach out to me and give me great advice, so I’ve just been laying low in silence. Now’s the first time I’ve been able to sing and

bear it.” She later updated fans to let them know she was “a lot better”.

Jessie, who shared a selfie of herself smiling on Christmas Day, said: “On Christmas Eve I was in the ear hospital going, ‘ What is going on?’. I’m glad I went early and they worked out what it was real quick and I got put on the right medicine, so I feel a lot better today.”

She added: “I am now watching Queen’s Gambit with my finger in my ear. I’ve done the first episode four times because I [have] zero focus and my ear sounds like someone crawled in and turned a hairdryer on.”

And speaking about her singing, Jessie said: “I haven’t sung for so long and when I sing loud, it sounds like there’s someone trying to run out of my ear. It could be way worse, it is what it is. I’m super-grateful for my health.”

Jessie, who was a judge on The Voice, confirmed in October that she has split with actor Channing Tatum, 40, after a two-year on-off relationship.
