SWANS FLYING TOWARDS TOP
Lowe: We’re out to catch the Canaries
JAMAL LOWE helped in-form Swansea to another victory and then warned Championship leaders Norwich: “We’re coming for you.”
Steve Cooper’s side staged a smash-and-grab raid at Oakwell with goals from Wales international Ben Cabango and top scorer Lowe.
The win left the Swans four points clear of third-placed Bournemouth and four points behind Daniel Farke’s table-topping Canaries.
Lowe, who notched his seventh goal in as many matches, said: “We believe we can achieve something this season.
“Norwich are top at the minute and we are not too far behind them, but we have to win our games, it’s as simple as that.
“You keep going, you keep battling and you keep getting the results – and then we will see where that takes us. We just have to be at it in every game.”
Barnsley could not penetrate a resolute Swansea, who have comfortably the best defensive record in the Football League.
Cooper’s men have now registered 14 clean sheets in 24 Championship games and have conceded just 13 League goals.
After keeping Barnsley at bay, Swansea led when Cabango

When Barnsley defenders Mads Andersen and Michal Helik messed up as they went for the same ball, Lowe nipped in to score a killer second 10 minutes after the restart.
The ex-Wigan man, who took his tally to nine for the season, said: “I’ve been doing a lot of extra fitness work on the training ground.
“You miss chances when you are tired, so being as fit as you can be is so important when the opportunities come.”
Barnsley full-back Callum Brittain defended his defensive team-mates following their costly blunder that allowed Lowe to score.
Brittain said: “Anyone would be disappointed if they made a mistake that led to a goal. “But it’s football, these things happen. The rest of us will get around them and get their heads up.
“They’re two good players who are both playing well at the moment.” Swansea boss Cooper admitted he was hopeful of adding to his squad when asked about moves for Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane on loan and Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris.
Barnsley captain Alex Mowatt is out of contract this summer but has yet to sign a new deal offered to him by the Tykes, who have already turned down one bid for the former Leeds star.
