YOUR SHOUT

-

Fiona, your new manager

» seems to be doing well which, as an Arsenal fan, I’m not too happy about. Happy for you, though!

Paul, Croydon

FP: Well, that’s very magnanimous of you Paul, thank you. Very happy with Herr Tuchel. Although Lampard, of course, will always be a legend.

Hi Fiona, thank you for

» your mostly humorous page every Saturday. One thing I would like to see more of in your paper is the wonderful job the NHS is doing administering vaccinations to protect us from this terrible virus.

I have been buying the Daily Mirror for over 60 years (I don’t want a medal ha-ha). We have had our jabs and we’re doing fine…

Michael McGivney via e-mail FP: Well, I am sending you a virtual medal via the powers of my mind, Michael! So thrilled you’ve stuck with us for SIX DECADES! You’ve been with the Mirror longer than I have! Thank you.

Fiona, I totally agree with

» your words on obesity. It’s so easy – and cheaper – to cook meals from scratch. My husband has never been in a McDonald’s – he hates them. Three times we have had deliveries from them, obviously to the wrong address and the last time the driver said “you might as well keep it” – lukewarm McMuffins with synthetic egg and sausage. It was vile, lol. Paulette Pawley, Spondon, Derby

FP: Have to say, Paulette, that as burgers go, they’re pretty much the best, according to my eldest son. I haven’t had one since the 1970s when they first arrived on these shores. But that’s because I haven’t eaten meat for more than 30 years. (How can that be, I wonder, when I’m only 25?). PS, I have very fond memories of Spondon. Spent lots of weekends there in the 1980s. That’s all I’m going to say!

Fiona, I’ve never been a

» royalist, nothing personal or anything, but seeing the Duke of Edinburgh looking so frail, yet saying he didn’t want to “cause a fuss” before he went into hospital, made me shed a tear.

Patricia, via e-mail

FP: Great minds think alike, Patricia! He’s certainly made of stern stuff. And his sense of duty knows no bounds.
