Man With Pretend Tourettes

MARCUS Rashford has praised two brothers who climbed the equivalent of the Three Peaks Challenge on their stairs at home – to help hungry children.

Jack and Ryan Alexander, 10 and 13, wanted to help after hearing the Manchester United and England player had raised £20million for FareShare.

The lads tackled the equivalent of Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike – 10,052ft – in 2,912 flights of stairs.

Rashford, 23, shared the story on Twitter, saying: “Well done boys, great job!”

Jack, from Swindon, Wilts, said: “I was speechless – I didn’t know what to say when my dad told me.”

So far the boys have raised £900 for the food charity, three times their original target.

THE parents of a sevenyear-old girl who collapsed at school are suing an NHS trust for more than £200,000 over the trauma of witnessing her death.

Mark and Lynette Polmear ran to Esmee’s aid after an SOS call from her school in Perranporth, Cornwall. But their efforts to revive her failed and she died in hospital.

The High Court was told Esmee had a very rare and fatal lung condition.

In 2018, the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust admitted she should have been diagnosed by mid-January 2015.

Lawyers for the Trust said the claim should be barred because “failure to diagnose” was too long before Esmee’s collapse.

The High Court allowed the claim to proceed.
