QCan you tell me which is the best paint for a radiator? We have tried gloss, silk and emulsion over the years but they all lead to flaking and chipping.
C Barlow, Manchester
I use Blackfriar Quick Drying Radiator Paint. It withstands heat up to 150ºC, is extremely hardwearing and does not yellow with age. Remember preparation is key!
AQWe have a recently laid an Indian sandstone drive which is lovely. However during building work a skip was placed on the drive resulting in a rusty stain. How can we remove this please? Any help appreciated. Dennis Moor, by email
Lithofin manufacture a non-acid rust stain remover called Rust-Ex which works on natural stone as well as marble and limestone.
I have two chrome wall brackets holding up glass shelves in our bathroom. One of the brackets has a few rust spots at the bottom. Is there any chrome paint or spray you would use to clean/repair these? I’ve tried silver Hammerite but that dries to a matt finish.
Dieter Neve, Silsden, West Yorks.
You need to get your hands on metallic paint manufactured by Ardenbrite. They have a huge range of quick drying liquid metal paints. Just make sure the brackets are free of grease and grime before painting.
