FAMILY’S FEARS FOR MISSING SARAH, 33
Cops release CCTV image of last known sighting as search widens
They are desperately trying to trace the 33-year-old, who disappeared last Wednesday after leaving a friend’s house.
The marketing account manager was filmed on the A205 in South London at 9.30pm while talking on her mobile.
The investigation is now being led by the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
Police said it was “out of character” for Ms Everard to not be in touch with family and friends. Her family have travelled to London from York and are said to be growing more concerned as each day passes.
Det Chief Insp Katherine Goodwin said: “I would like to stress that there is no information at this stage to suggest anything untoward may have happened to Sarah. The focus remains on returning her home to her family safe and well and that is our number one priority.”
Search-and-rescue teams were seen scouring the ponds on Clapham Common yesterday morning for any further clues.
Ms Everard was seen on Poynders Road, from the junction with Cavendish Road.
Detectives have asked residents in the area to check their doorbell cameras and dashcams for any potential leads.
She was wearing a green rain jacket, navy trousers with a white diamond pattern and turquoise and orange trainers. She is thought to have been wearing green earphones and a white beanie hat.
Reports suggest she spoke with her partner on her mobile phone on her way home to Brixton. They talked for about 15 minutes and discussed plans to see each other the next day.
Sarah’s best friend Rose, a teacher, said: “Sarah and I met many years ago whilst studying at Durham University. She has always been an exceptional friend, dropping everything to be there and support her friends whenever they need her.”
The focus remains on returning her home to her family safe & well
