FAH & AWAY THE BEST!

Fahey’s Lincoln Trial contender Tadleel looks set to deliver career-best success for Pearson

-

TADLEEL can give Laura Pearson the biggest triumph of her career by beating 12 rivals for the Bombardier British-Hopped Amber Beer Lincoln Trial (2.40) at Wolverhampton.

Like his rising star jockey, the Richard Fahey (right) trainee has been in top form of late and followed a neck defeat at Lingfield in January with a three-quarter-length win at Newcastle on his penultimate start.

Returning to Gosforth Park’s seven furlongs 18 days ago, Tadleel went in again, defying a 4lb rise with a head margin over Lord Of The Lodge.

The six-year-old son of Dark Angel got up close home in the style of a horse who wouldn’t be troubled by the return to a mile, and an another 4lb on his back shouldn’t prevent Tadleel from making the shake-up.

Archie Watson’s team are going great guns and the Lambourn trainer’s HIGHLAND DRESS gets the vote in the Listed Bombardier Lady Wulfruna Stakes (2.05).

Having scored at Lingfield either side of New Year, the son of Shamardal ran a rocksolid second in a conditions event at Chelmsford last time out.

His British Horseracing Authority rating of 108 puts Kieran Shoemark’s mount in the mix – and there may be a little improvement yet to come.

He won the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood last August and SUMMERGHAND is capable of collecting for the first time since in the Betway Handicap

(3.15).

On Sandown’s Imperial Cup undercard, SAM BARTON is a tentative selection for a wide-open European Breeders’ Fund Paddy Power ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle Final (1.50).

A two-and-a-quarter-length maidenhurdle supremacy at Doncaster in January rates a personal best for the Emma Lavelle six-year-old, who has the potential to progress past his British Horseracing Authority rating of 132.

Paul Nicholls and daughter Megan hold the aces in the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Mares’ Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race (3.00) with RAINYDAY WOMAN.

After making the perfect start for the 11-time champion trainer at Stratford in November, the daughter of Kayf Tara moved up to this level to beat Flirtatious Girl by three and a half lengths at Huntingdon three days before Christmas – and should confirm her superiority on 4lb worse terms. Bryony Frost continues her association with the Lucy Wadham-saddled ADMIRAL BARRATRY and they look a very potent combination in the Listed Paddy’s Rewards Club Novices’ Handicap Chase (3.35).
