JUVE TITLE BID LOOKS TEN-UOUS

-

JUVENTUS hopes of winning a 10th-successive Serie A title were dealt a blow by Benevento.

The underdogs won 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium to leave the champions trailing leaders Inter Milan by 10 points.

Adolfo Gaich (above) latched on to a stray Arthur pass to shock Andrea Pirlo’s side in the 69th minute.

Pirlo is under pressure after Juve were dumped out of the Champions League by Porto earlier in the month.

And he knew it wasn’t his day when his side had a penalty award overturned and a Cristiano Ronaldo goal chalked off for offside.

Pirlo said: “We must carry on believing and continue our path.

“The objective does not change, but we do need a completely different attitude. We wear an important jersey and must honour it every time.”

Inter’s game against Sassuolo on Saturday was postponed after Samir Handanovic, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij and Matias Vecino tested positive for Covid.

Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick as Bayern Munich thrashed Stuttgart 4-0 despite being a man down for 78 minutes.

Alphonso Davies saw red early on but Lewandowski was still able to take his Bayern goal tally for the season to 42.

Karim Benzema scored for a sixth consecutive game as his brace eased Real Madrid to a 3-1 win over Celta Vigo.

Sevilla goalkeeper Bono became an internet sensation by scoring an injury-time equaliser at Real Valladolid.

The Morocco international had gone up for a corner and was booked for removing his shirt in celebration.

He became the second La Liga goalkeeper to score this season after Eibar’s Marko Dmitrovic converted a penalty against Atletico Madrid in January.
