Boris isn’t fit to be our leader

- Edited by FIONA PARKER

■ Your front pages this week have blasted Boris Johnson over his questionable morals, while Kevin Maguire claims he is a half-baked prime minister whose disastrous decisions have led to thousands of needless Covid deaths, and who now insults NHS staff with a 1% pay rise (Mirror, March 29).

The list of his failings is endless yet still the Conservatives are ahead in the polls. It seems the public would rather have them in charge than Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, no matter what the cost. Why is that?

We need a strong Labour Party now and in the future to challenge the despicable Tories. But how to achieve this? Love him or hate him, the answer lies in a good long chat with Tony Blair, the Labour leader who knew how to win elections.

■ It appears we have a Prime Minister whose morals leave a lot to be desired. It seems the man in charge of running this country during the biggest crisis since the Second World War doesn’t give a hoot about his own family life, so why should he be concerned about our welfare?

His bad decisions, along with those of his Tory colleagues, are responsible for the deaths of thousands of people and he needs to be held accountable. They are in power just for their own selfish reasons. Alan Robinson, Liverpool

■ Boris Johnson looks like Donald Trump, acts like him, refuses to accept reponsibility like him and has the same couldn’t care less attitude. He also has the same Teflon-coated exterior as nothing sticks, including salacious details about his private life.

What have we done to deserve Boris Johnson as our PM? If you are a liar, a philanderer and morally corrupt, it seems the Tories are waiting for your call.

■ The Prime Minister should take a leaf out of his own book, get back to his office and do the job we pay him for. I am sick to death seeing him swanning around the country posing for photo opportunities and making a pig’s ear of a simple task such as demonstrating how not to clean a chair.

That Britain’s Covid death toll has exceeded 126,000 is due to his and his Government’s policies. My opinion was he was a buffoon but now I believe he’s a danger to this country. The latest revelations about his affair with Jennifer Arcuri only add to my assessment of him. Ron Bardwell, Royal Wootton Bassett, Wilts

■ Why has there been no mention of your revelations about Boris Johnson’s private life elsewhere in the media, as they touch his official duties too? It is further proof he’s not fit for the job of prime minister, but it seems Boris is the darling of the dear old Tory ladies who think he is just a naughty boy.

■ After reading of BoJo’s affair with Jennifer Arcuri in the Mirror and Sunday Mirror, I can only wonder this: if he can be so low as to allegedly hold his liaisons in the marital home, what is he capable of doing to the rest of us who seem to be of no consequence to him? Gig Hadley, Tilbury, Essex

■ His private affairs aside, can anyone tell me how it is that we are expected to take Boris Johnson seriously when he doesn’t know how to comb his hair or how to dress in a decent uncreased suit?

Ministers around Europe must be totally amazed when they meet him and he looks like he has just got out of bed.
