Another source said: “There is very much a feeling that Harry has made his bed, he’s now on the other side of the world with his family and he chose to walk away from everything, so why should he be afforded any time. But no one wants to cause the Queen further upset so there is likely to be a cooling of attitudes once everything dies down.”
The Mirror previously revealed how the Queen told Prince Harry she was delighted he and Meghan had “found happiness”. But during a private call, she asked him to uphold his family’s values.
Her Majesty wants the seven senior members of The Firm to be deployed at
a series of events in the coming months to support each other and the nation.
Palace insiders said the Queen is keen on “putting the last year of the coronavirus crisis and family controversies” behind them all, heralding a new start.
The Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and Princess Anne have all agreed to clear their diaries and accompany the Queen if requested.
The first show of a united family is set to be after today’s funeral ceremony when the Queen is understood to be hosting 15 of the funeral guests at a reception for close family.
Royal sources confirmed the family will come together to commemorate Prince Philip after the ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle at 3pm.
