Two big dates in 24 hours for star Sheridan & Alex
ACTRESS Sheridan Smith’s smile says it all as she appears to make her new romance with ex-boyfriend Alex Lawler official a second time around.
Sheridan and Alex, who first dated 20 years ago, attended two premieres in the space of 24 hours, first at the Pride and Prejudice musical at the Criterion Theatre, London, on Wednesday.
Yesterday morning they were together again, in the front row of the Curzon cinema in Mayfair for Hansel and Gretel: After Ever After, the Sky Max Christmas film.
Sheridan, 40, first sparked speculation that she and Alex, also 40, were an item again in September when she shared a picture of them together, and later posted another snap wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
At the time, Sheridan wrote: “So pleased this fitty I dated back in the day (20 years ago) is back in my life! Life works in mysterious ways… miss u Mr L.”
Alex is also an actor, with credits including 2001 comedy Mike Bassett: England Manager and Sky football drama Dream Team.
A spokesman for Sheridan declined to comment on her relationship with Alex but fans will hope the pair find happiness.
Earlier this year, Sheridan announced she had split from fiance Jamie Horn after three years together. Their son Billy had been born in May 2020.
PREGNANCY
Sheridan met former insurance broker Jamie, 31, on the dating app Tinder in 2018 and they soon got engaged. In a joint statement in July, they said: “It is with great sadness that we have decided to have some time apart. We both remain completely committed to raising our beautiful boy Billy together.” The pair appeared in a one-off ITV documentary last year called Sheridan Smith: Becoming Mum, which followed the star’s pregnancy. Previously, Sheridan had an on-off romance with Hollyoaks star Greg Wood. Sheridan and father-ofthree Greg went public with their relationship in January 2015, having met a couple of months earlier.
That March, they had matching tattoos done. Sheridan’s read “Gregory’s Girl” while Greg’s said “My Sheri Amour”, each above playingcard hearts that said “All in”. But in January 2016 the romance ended amidst claims by Sheridan that Greg had cheated on her. Sheridan won acclaim for her role in TV drama Cilla in 2014 and has starred in West End musicals, including Funny Girl in 2016 and, in 2019, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. She got an OBE in the 2015 New Year Honours. She has also been linked to Gavin & Stacey star James Corden, 37, in the past, and the two have remained firm friends.
