SACKED Hollyoaks actress Sarah Jayne Dunn has defended her decision to keep posting racy pictures on adult website OnlyFans.

The soap star, 40, who has been accused of “glorifying prostitution”, argued the images were no different to those she has put on Instagram for years.

And the mum of one said the shots are hidden from children behind a paywall.

She said: “The idea was to launch OnlyFans and take back some power and control over my images. I find them empowering and I get a lot of positivity from other women who say it’s inspiring and motivating.”

During a frank exchange on Good Morning Britain, journalist Dominique Samuels said the website had a bad reputation, saying: “It’s generally known for online pornography.

“I think it promotes a glorification of, quite frankly, prostitution and I don’t think it’s healthy for young girls.”

Sarah Jayne was axed by the soap, in which she has played Mandy Richardson on and off for 25 years, for refusing to quit adults-only OnlyFans, which pays her up to £7,000 a week.

Channel 4 said it was not in line with its target “youth-facing” audience. But speaking on GMB, Sarah Jayne argued: “The site itself, you have to be over 18 to access, but my specific content was no different to the content I’ve put on Instagram, that I’ve done for men’s magazines, for calendars all of my career.

“So putting it onto a platform where you have to be 18 to get on there, it’s actually protecting it from a younger audience.

“It’s taking it out of the public view and it’s putting it behind a paywall.”

Hollyoaks chiefs had hoped to reach an agreement to allow her to stay.

A spokesman said: “We take our responsibility to our young audience very seriously. The show doesn’t allow cast members to be active on certain 18+ websites.

“We’d hoped we could reach a resolution with Sarah.”

Yesterday she received support from former Coronation Street actress Nicola Thorp, 33, who said: “Solidarity with Sarah Jayne Dunn. Hollyoaks are policing her body at the same time as they showcase topless male actors on teatime telly.

“The only message they should be worried about sending their young fans is the one they’ve created themselves.”

I get a lot of positivity from other women who say that it’s motivating
