LEAGUE TWO

-

CARLISLE 0 BARROW 0

KEITH MILLEN got shirty with Barrow and officials after Carlisle failed to get a penalty.

Rod McDonald’s late drive off the bar almost settled a feisty derby in the hosts’ favour.

But boss Millen was convinced fouls in the box went unpunished.

He said: “I didn’t realise we’re swapping shirts during the game. Their players aren’t looking at the ball.”

SCUNTHORPE 1 Loft 37

SALFORD 1 McAleny 59

KEITH HILL outed his players as unfit after his first league game as Iron boss ended in a draw.

Ryan Loft bundled in from close range before the break but Conor McAleny conjured up a Salford leveller around the hour mark.

And Hill was annoyed to see his new charges fade, saying: “We 100 percent ran out of steam. Fitness is the responsibility of players individually and they know that.”

SUTTON UTD 1 Olaofe 71

RYAN WATSON insists Rovers will not play the blame game after Peter Clarke’s clanger gifted Sutton victory.

Striker Isaac Olaofe dispossessed the veteran defender, 39, to net the game’s only goal in the 71st minute.

Midfielder Watson said: “He’s been brilliant for us, and we stick together.

“Unfortunately, that was one thing that went against us. We’re all frustrated, we know we haven’t scored enough.”

ROCHDALE 2 Newby 1, 90

L ORIENT 2 Drinan 24, Clay 66

CRAIG CLAY knows his goal should have been an O’s winner.

The midfielder added to Aaron Drinan’s strike but Alex Newby, who had netted after just 30 seconds, drew Dale level in the final minute.

Clay said: “It’s two key moments – the start of the game and the end.

“We should have been out of sight. We have got to make sure we take all three points.”

STEVENAGE 1 Cuthbert 55

MANSFIELD 2 O’Toole 19, Stirk 65

STEVENAGE have parted company with manager Alex Revell.

The 38-year-old was axed after Ryan Stirk’s first senior goal nicked a win for Mansfield.

The sub, on loan from Birmingham, added to a John-Joe O’Toole strike after Scott Cuthbert had headed fourthbottom Boro level.

Midfielder Stirk, 21, said: “We have won four in a row now and our aim is to get promoted this season.”

WALSALL 1 Phillips 88

HARROGATE 3 Power 20, Diamond 61, Armstrong 82

BOSS Simon Weaver hailed his goalscorers after Harrogate cruised to victory.

Simon Power, Jack Diamond and Luke Armstrong each netted before Kieran Phillips pulled one back late on for Walsall.

Weaver (above) said: “Jack was red-hot down the left and Simon must be feeling really good about himself – they can be scary to play against.

“Luke just pounces on chances inside the box, I’m delighted for him.”
