It’s raining cats and plots again

ECCENTRIC Joe Exotic and his Oklahoma zoo captivated us in lockdown, creating an instant Netflix smash hit.

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, following the life of 58-yearold Joe, had 64 million households hooked in the first month of release.

Filmed at his animal park, home to more than 230 lions and tigers, it revealed a barmy world of big cat owners, black market animal trading, dangerous feuds, cradling tiger cubs like babies, mauled staff, murder charges, mullets and cheesy songs.

Now the true crime TV series is back for a second run - and it’s set to be as gripping and bonkers as ever.

The main focus of the first was the row between Joe and big cat conservationist Carole Baskin.

He accused her of being involved in her husband’s disappearance and is now in jail doing 22 years for trying to hire hitmen to kill Baskin and 17 charges of animal abuse.

And if that wasn’t a controversial enough start to a second season, Carole Baskin has taken legal action against Netflix for using footage of her in this new run.

And she’s also closing in on ownership of Joe’s disreputable zoo.

The trailer reveals some familiar characters talking about how much life has changed for them since the original series.

Joe complains that everyone else is out there making money while he is banged up behind bars.

And there’s the return of old enemies and frenemies – someone who pretends to be a pal – including zookeeper Jeff Lowe and businessman James Garretson.

But is there really more to say on this headline-grabbing saga, or is this flogging a dead tiger?
