BORIS Johnson has been accused of once again flouting rules on wearing face masks after he was seen in a crowded theatre without one.

Witnesses said the Prime Minister failed to cover his face during the performance of Macbeth, despite requests by the London theatre for the audience to wear one at all times.

Pictures show him with his mask around his chin during the first half of the play, while fellow theatre-goers claimed he took it off during the second half.

He put the mask on when the house lights came on at the end but was spotted in another public area of the theatre without one.

The PM was in the audience to see the Shakespearean tragedy following a torrid few weeks.

He has been embroiled in rows over Tory sleaze, Northern rail and social care – with disgruntled Conservative MPs claiming he is not up to the job.

The PM’s latest breach comes days after he apologised for going mask-free for “barely 30 seconds” at a hospital, where staff are said to have told him three times to wear one.

The Mirror also revealed he went without a mask on a crowded train this week.

He defended going maskfree next to 95-year-old Sir David Attenborough at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow this month.

While people no longer have to wear masks by law in England, the Government recommends wearing them in “crowded, enclosed” spaces.

The 325-seat Almeida Theatre in North London asks visitors to wear them, unless they are exempt, to “help protect our staff, cast and other audience members”.

Despite the images, No10 claimed: “The Prime Minister follows all Covid rules.”

Macbeth, which stars James McArdle and Saorise Ronan, is the tale of an ambitious lord who murders a king only to be overthrown by warring factions.
