POLICE probing the suspected murder of a teenager are believed to be working on the theory she was abducted by strangers.

Sources added a sexual motive is also a significant line of inquiry over the death of Bobbi-Anne McLeod, 18.

The victim left her home at about 6pm on Saturday to catch a bus to meet friends in the city centre.

But she never arrived, prompting her boyfriend to raise the alarm.

Police found a body on Tuesday after receiving information.

While formal identification is yet to take place, her family have been informed.

Two men aged 24 and 26 remain in custody on suspicion of murder.

Local man Stuart Fullard, 54, believes he may have been one of the last people to see the teenager alive.

He told The Mirror: “I was driving past the bus stop and I saw a young girl sat there, beside two older people.

“She was dressed very distinctively in cut jeans and fishnet tights.”

Some of Bobbi-Anne’s belongings were found at the bus stop in the Leigham area of Plymouth, Devon.

It is around eight miles from the beach at Bovisand, south of the city centre, where her body was recovered.

Throughout the day family and friends gathered near the bus shelter to pay tribute to the victim.

The mother of her boyfriend Louie, Adele

Leach, said she was “absolutely heartbroken”. She added: “Beautiful Bobbi you will always have a place in our hearts. We all miss you so much.”

Bobbi-Anne’s older brother Lee also laid flowers at the bus stop and posted a photo of the pair in school.

He said: “Until we meet again sis, you didn’t deserve this, such a beautiful and talented girl.

“And to have you as my little sister, the adventure and journey we had been on will always be treasured.”

Family friend and neighbour Amanda Isaacs, 34, added the death is “every parent’s worst nightmare”.

She said: “The family are so upset they just need time to grieve.

“She was a lovely little girl and what happened to her has affected the whole of Plymouth.

“When we were searching, we still had hope. But sadly, this is beyond our worst fears.”

Bobbi-Anne’s cousin also left a tribute. She said: “Wouldn’t have anyone better by my side or to say was family.

“You’ll always be that bundle of joy.”

One woman, who was laying flowers, added: “It’s just so surreal. My daughter knew her all her life. It’s like losing a part of the family.”

Assistant chief constable of operations Nikki Leaper said: “Officers are being supported by specialist resources whilst extensive searches and forensic examination of a number of scenes is carried out.”

Searches are expected to last a number of days.
