Make your own throne!

YOU WILL NEED: A straight-backed, sturdy chair Gold spray paint, from Hobbycraft Copper paint Large pieces of cardboard, e.g. an old box Scotch paper tape (mine from Amazon) Black Sharpie pen 4 bamboo canes 2 x 7cm polystyren­e balls, from Hobbycraft Piece of rope

1. Lay the chair on the cardboard, on its side and draw around all sides. Do this twice.

Leave an extra piece of cardboard to tuck under the feet.

2. Using a sharp knife, cut the shapes out of the card.

3. Cut a piece of card to cover seat, the front and tuck slightly under the feet.

4. Tape the sides and front pieces to each other on the chair.

5. Attach three bamboo canes to the back of the chair using tape, with the centre cane higher than the two sides.

6. Lay the chair on the card. Draw around the back creating a throne shape. Cut out one long piece to cover the back.

7. Using the same shape, cut a piece to cover the front.

8. Tape all the pieces together, around the chair.

9. Spray the rope with copper spray paint.

10. Cut a bamboo cane in half. Push each polystyren­e ball on to a piece of cane then paint with bronze paint.

11. Paint the MDF

Crown with purple paint (or cut one from cardboard), leave to dry then add stick on jewels.

12. Spray the throne all over with gold spray paint. Leave to dry.

13. Using a hot glue gun, attach rope to the edges of the throne.

14. Tape the canes and polystyren­e balls to the back of the throne so the balls show.

15. Glue the MDF crown to the front of the throne.

16. Add a velvet cushion and take a seat!
