CASH IS KING

Punters should aim for the Stars in Haydock’s Achilles

-

LET’S go for a king-size 50-1 shot in the Achilles Stakes.

KING OF STARS (1.45) is a seriously quick sprinter so Haydock’s sharp 5f track should suit him.

Mick Appleby’s speedster’s neck second behind Twilight Calls at Newmarket last summer shows what he can do and he twice made all the running in handicaps later in the season.

Have 1pt each-way at 50-1, with William Hill paying out on four places.

There doesn’t appear to be much early pace in the Group 3

Pinnacle Stakes later on the card. That could help

DARLECTABLE YOU

(2.55), as she made a lot of the running to land a Windsor handicap last time.

She’ll have to improve on that effort but it was her first run for almost a year and the step up to 1m4f is certain to suit this superbly-bred filly. Have 1pt each-way at 9-1,

with William Hill and Sky Bet both stretching their place terms to four.

There’s a couple of interesting two-year-old races on Beverley’s cracking card.

DISTINGUISHED LADY

(2.05) showed plenty of speed in a hot 6f Newmarket novice race on her debut.

She used up plenty of energy to get across from the widest draw and she received a hefty bump but she still came third behind top Godolphin prospect Mawj.

This drop in trip looks ideal and she’s got the best draw. Have 2pts win at 3-1.

CHATEAU (3.15) was also much better than the bare result on his debut at Salisbury.

He was hampered at the start and found trouble when trying to get into the race. Arguably, he should have won. Have 3pts to win at 4-1.

OH THIS IS US (3.45) has a great record at Chester.

Last summer he won the Group 3 Diomed Stakes at Epsom on Derby day and he’s slipped a huge amount in the weights for this handicap.

His draw in stall three will help and he should get a decent pace. Have 2pts to win at 13-2.
