ZIAN’S FEELING BRAD ALL OVER FOR GOAL PAL

-

MILLWALL 2 Bradshaw 14, Flemming 72 PRESTON 0

ZIAN FLEMMING is happy to see Tom Bradshaw trump him in Millwall’s scoring stakes – provided Gary Rowett’s side finish with Championship play-off glory.

The Lions are bidding to finish in the top six of England’s second tier for the first time in 21 years.

Millwall’s push for the Premier League is being powered by Bradshaw (above, celebrating) and Flemming, who scored their 15th and 14th goals respectively of the campaign to dent Preston’s promotion prospects.

Dutchman Flemming cost the Lions a club record £1.7million in the summer from Fortuna Sittard but is looking a snip at that price.

He produced a pinpoint cross for Bradshaw to head the Lions in front at the Den in the 14th minute before clinically converting Jake Cooper’s knockdown 18 minutes from time.

Asked if he would be bothered if Bradshaw finished ahead of him, a smiling Flemming said: “If we get promoted, no. I have to stay close to him. He can’t run away too easily – especially after I assisted him.

“It’s very nice he has scored loads of goals and I’ve scored loads of goals. Some days you won’t be able to do it, or it doesn’t fall for you, and then it will fall for Bradders – or the other way round. Today it fell for both of us.”

Millwall ended a four-game winless streak in the league and a scoring drought that stretched more than six-and-a-half hours.

Flemming added: “It was maybe not the greatest of games but at this stage of the season – and the importance – we won quite comfortably, not that we didn’t have to work hard for it.”

Preston are eighth after they failed to make it four victories on the bounce.

North End boss Ryan Lowe said: “For large parts of the game we were the better team.

“What sums the game up is both boxes – and they were better in both boxes. We weren’t that clinical in front of goal or strong and brave enough in our defensive third and 18-yard box, which we have been before.”
