Tripbadvisor...Stonehenge? That’s just a pile of rocks

VISITORS to some of Britain’s top attractions are using Tripadvisor to leave hilarious one-star reviews.

One tourist criticised Stonehenge for being “just a pile of rocks” while another slammed Snowdon as “too steep”. Users of the website can rate travel experiences from one to five stars and leave reviews that range from scathing to glowing.

Prehistoric monument Stonehenge, on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, has a four-star rating on the site – but not all of its 800,000 visitors a year are impressed.

One reviewer wrote: “It’s a pile of rocks, and everyone on the A303 slows down to look at them. Pointless. Save yourself the time and don’t go.”

Another described it as “some humdrum old rocks about twice the height of a Mondeo driver”.

Visiting the site was also compared to “watching paint dry” or a “five hour wait in A&E”.

A visitor to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Lancs, also used Tripadvisor to slam the funfair.

They said: “It’s a rip off. Why expect a granny to pay full price? As if they’re going on the Big One.” And some who opted for a day out climbing a mountain were less than impressed with Snowdon, now also known as Yr Wyddfa, because it was “too steep”.

One said: “What are they thinking? It’s too rough and steep. The weather is atrocious and whatever possessed them to put it in Wales? It would be much better in Cornwall.”

And another tourist who climbed Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh took the name a little too literally.

They moaned: “No seat at the top or anyone by the name of Arthur.

“If I had paid to go, I would have asked for my money back.”
