‘Cover-up’ fear over Johnson
■ THE Cabinet Office failure to supply Boris Johnson’s unredacted WhatsApp messages to the Covid inquiry because they consider it “irrelevant” makes you wonder what else they are trying to cover up. (Mirror, May 25).
The refusal to comply is the equivalent of a prosecuting team refusing to forward evidence to the defence in a trial because it harms their case.
The public will wonder what it is the Government are covering up and how much of an embarrassment it might be to them.
If they refuse to comply they should be made to delve into their own bank accounts to pay for Johnson’s legal team – because the taxpayers have had enough of this sleazy government.

■ Shock, horror – yet again Boris Johnson is in the headlines and as usual for the wrong reasons.
If the latest revelations of him apparently hosting parties at PM’s country residence Chequers in lockdown turn out to be true, it will just add to the belief that this ex-PM doesn’t deserve to be an MP, let alone hold any high office of state.
But it also begs the question that if parties were taking place, then surely the security and police officers who would have been guarding the premises would have seen what was happening and should have reported it to their supervisors.
If they did do that, and still nothing was done about it, then there should be an investigation into that as well.

■ If the Cabinet Office won’t release material to the Covid inquiry relating to Boris Johnson’s messages then it begs the question what else are they trying to hide?
But both he and the rest of this sleaze-ridden government should know the truth will come out eventually. The public has a right to know the full facts as presented to us by Covid chair Baroness Hallett and we won’t accept a whitewash.
As for Johnson, he should be made to pay his own legal fees with all the money he must be earning from his American speaking tour.

■ At last Boris Johnson’s past is caching up with him and he is being investigated by police over allegations of breaking lockdown rules at Chequers.
This man is already a confirmed liar after being fined for a similar offence. Why is he still an MP?
Now he’s in America making money on a speaking tour. Just what this has to do with his job as an MP, I don’t know.

■ As sleaze overwhelms the Tories, Boris Johnson faces more police questions over lockdown rulebreaking at Chequers. This man has dragged Westminster into the gutter and failed the country.
He should be removed from politics permanently.

■ As Boris Johnson is so fond of using Latin and Greek, here is one word for him to ponder – abydocomist, meaning one who constantly boasts and lies.
The word comes from the ancient Greek after the city of Abydos, the inhabitants of which were known for inventing falsehoods and bragging about them.

■ It’s easy to understand why our disgraced ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson keeps insisting he broke no rules during Covid because the only rules that he recognises are his own – and he makes them up as he goes along.
