Have shot with Botox
WINNER MACHINE
MANY familiar rivals go head-to-head in the McCoy Contractors Cleeve Hurdle (3.35) at Cheltenham today but it may be worth having a look at one of the younger horses in this small but most competitive field.
BOTOX HAS enhanced a good record fresh when adding a West Yorkshire Hurdle to his CV at Wetherby in November.
And he was not disgraced when sixth of 10 to Crambo in the
Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot so this course winner, now sporting a visor, is shortlisted to give Gary Moore and Coailin Quinn (above) yet another high-profile winner.
GA LAW can put previous course practice into good use in the Paddy Power Cheltenham Countdown Podcast Handicap Chase (1.15).
The eight-year-old, trained by the wily Jamie Snowden, won last season’s Paddy Power Chase at this venue and travelled well for a long way in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury over three and a quarter miles last month. The cheekpieces worn on that occasion are retained and a strongly run race at this shorter trip could play to his strengths.
LOVE ENVOI
is backed to cause something of a surprise in the Unibet Hurdle (3.00). Lossiemouth is likely to go off a very shortpriced favourite but Harry Fry’s mare has a more recent run to her credit, having chased home Not So Sleepy in a Sandown Grade One on heavy ground.
While her optimum distance is probably further than this two-mileone-furlong affair, she did win over the trip at the 2022 Festival and the conditions of the race do favour her.
