ACCRINGTON 0 GRIMSBY 0

RADEK VITEK admits he is learning fast after keeping back-to-back clean sheets with Accrington following his loan move from Manchester United

The 20-year-old Czech goalkeeper admitted: “I think the main difference is that in academy football they always play short – but in men’s football every minute matters, every point matters so you have to be more sensible in what you do.

“We are definitely capable of making the play-offs.”

COLCHESTER 3 FOREST GREEN 3

DOMINIC THOMPSON believes Forest Green showed the resilience needed to avoid relegation.

Rovers came from behind to share the points, and wing-back Thompson said: “It takes fight and determination to get out of the situation we are in.

“That starts with the manager and the staff, and the messages and passion they bring us before the game. And the fans’ reaction at the end shows how much it means to show that resilience.”

MANSFIELD 1 NOTTS COUNTY 0

DAVIS KEILLOR-DUNN says a derby-day victory was the perfect way for Mansfield to end a run of four games without a win.

Keillor-Dunn scored after just eight minutes and said: “These are the days you want as a player, those derby games. It was outstanding and I enjoyed being a part of that today.

“My goal has got to be right up there as one of my best this season.

“I thought the overhead kick at Accrington was nice but that one just goes ahead.”

STOCKPORT 1 HARROGATE 1

NICK POWELL says Stockport team-mate Connor Lemonheigh-Evans is beginning to show how important he is to County’s promotion push.

Lemonheigh-Evans – recalled from a loan spell at Wimbledon last month – cancelled out Dean Cornelius’s opener for in-form Harrogate.

Powell said: “Connor has been brilliant since he has come back. I don’t think fans have seen the best of him but people are starting to recognise him now.”

BARROW 1 MK DONS 0

COLE STOCKTON is happy to have quickly made his mark at Barrow after scoring the winner with his first goal for the club.

The forward, who has joined on loan from Burton Albion, said: “I’m buzzing with the goal – but the three points are what matters because everyone here is working so hard every day.

“Everybody has been brilliant and helped me settle in. There’s no better feeling than scoring but it’s on to the next game now.”

CRAWLEY 1 MORECAMBE 2

TWO-goal Ged Garner repaid the faith shown in him by boss Ged Brannan after last weekend’s penalty miss.

The Morecambe forward said: “As soon as I missed the penalty it was forgotten about. I spoke to the manager and he said don’t worry about it, it happens.

“He told me he had every faith in me to go and score and I repaid his faith today.”

Harry Forster gave the hosts an ideal start on 17 minutes, but Garner replied before the break and sealed it in the 86th minute.

NEWPORT 2 SWINDON 1

WILL EVANS says Newport had to readjust to League Two after their FA Cup tie with Manchester United.

The County forward said: “We’ve had a bit of a whirlwind couple of weeks and this was all about getting back to normality from the heights of the Man United game.”

Paul Glatzel got his first goal for Swindon shortly after half-time. But Evans netted his 20th of the season in the 53rd minute, with Seb Palmer-Houlden sealing it on 74 minutes.

SUTTON 1 DONCASTER 1

JOE IRONSIDE never doubted his ability to convert the 96th-minute penalty that secured a draw for Doncaster.

The hosts took the lead through Craig Eastmond but had to settle for a point after keeper Dean Bouzanis was penalised when coming for a cross, and Ironside delivered from the spot.

Ironside said: “You can either be the hero or the villain taking a penalty. I’m confident in my penaltytaking ability and I was nice and confident going up to that one.”

BRADFORD 0 WIMBLEDON 0

CIARAN KELLY says the rough and ready pitch at Valley Parade could help Bradford pick up points.

The Bantams have now gone eight games without a victory in the league.

But Irish defender Kelly, 25, said: “If anyone has to worry about the pitch, it’s the opposition.

“We’re playing on it week-in, week-out so we know what’s coming. We get accustomed to it.

“I’ve played on worse back home in Ireland.

“It’s a carpet to me at this stage.”

GILLINGHAM 1 WALSALL 1

CONOR MASTERSON says Gills must develop a habit of making defeats draws.

The defender said: “We had a chat yesterday as a whole group and our stats have shown we have lost too many games when we should have drawn.

“We have to keep moving forward, we are only one point outside the play-offs.”

Masterson levelled on 77 minutes after Walsall’s Isaac Hutchinson had converted a penalty in the 62nd minute.

SALFORD 3 WREXHAM 1

THEO VASSELL was told he would open his Salford account and score his first goal in 12 months.

The defender headed the hosts in front early on before Elliot Watt doubled their lead on 16 minutes.

Sam Dalby pulled one back for Wrexham just before half-time but Matt Smith struck on 56 minutes as Salford clinched all three points.

Vassell said: “The staff said before the game, ‘You’re going to score today’. I needed to at some point so I’m glad it was today.”

TRANMERE 0 CREWE 0

CONNOR JENNINGS says a battling stalemate shows how far Tranmere have come under Nigel Adkins.

The draw sees Rovers climb to 16th in the table after being second-bottom when Adkins took permanent charge in November.

Striker Jennings said: “We are definitely taking small steps and you can see that in results over the last month or two.

“It filters down from the manager. Everyone’s on the same page now.”
