PRINCE Harry is expected to attend the Super Bowl alongside the reigning queen of pop, Taylor Swift, after appearing at the NFL Honours to present an award.

Sources have told the Mirror that American football bosses have invited the Duke of Sussex to tomorrow’s game between San Francisco and Kansas City.

Harry, 39, appeared at the NFL Honours in Las Vegas to present an award on Thursday night, just days after the King revealed his cancer diagnosis.

An NFL insider said: “It is well-known the Prince loves American football, and bosses have extended an invitation following his recent appearance at the awards.

“This year’s Super Bowl is expected to be one of the most watched ever due largely to Taylor being there to support her boyfriend.”

The singer, who is currently touring in Japan, hopes to fly from Tokyo to Vegas on Saturday night to watch her partner, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Harry is no stranger to the fixture. In 2022, he attended Super Bowl LVI with his cousin Princess Eugenie in California.

The Prince appeared at the NFL awards to present Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward with the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

It comes after Harry flew thousands of miles from his Californian home to be at the King’s side on Tuesday, meeting with his father for around 45 minutes at Clarence House.

There was no meeting between Harry and his brother William, who have had a fractured relationship for several years, exacerbated after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working royals.

Harry appeared in public for the first time since his father’s diagnosis on Thursday night and, while introducing the award, joked the US “stole rugby from us and you made it your own”. “Instead of passing it backwards, just pass it forwards,” he said. “Why not wear pads and a helmet? “All kidding aside, what you guys do on and off the field is truly remarkable. You are role models for millions in the way you carry yourselves and the way you give back.

“This final award, the highest honour, is all about serving your community, and there is one special man we’d like to pay tribute to now.”

When Heyward received the award, he hugged the Duke, before he said: “Prince freakin’ Harry, I’m just shocked, that’s Prince Harry.”

The award recognises a player who has achieved on and off the field. The winner is awarded $250,000 (£198,000) to donate to their chosen charity.
