Your bright mischievous self is missed already...
Tribute to knifed Bristol teen
FLOWERS have been left in the street where a 16-yearold was stabbed to death.
Darrien Williams was attacked by two people wearing masks on Wednesday.
Two teens have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Loving tributes left amidst candles at the scene in Rawnsley Park, Easton, Bristol, yesterday described Darrien as the “sweetest purist soul”.
One card said: “Your bright mischievous self is missed already. You had mountains of potential and should have had the chance to follow your dreams.” Another read: “To Darrien’s family, no words or actions could ever take away your pain. You will be in all our hearts.”
Det Insp Neil Meade, of Avon & Somerset Police, said: “We are working non-stop to fully establish the circumstances around Darrien’s death and will not rest until those responsible are brought to justice.”
Yesterday, officers met with headteachers to discuss support ahead of pupils’ return from halfterm. The force said officers will be making extra patrols outside schools and it has also implemented additional stop-and-search powers for officers in the area.
Last night, a yellow and white forensic tent could still be seen over a picnic bench in the park, close to children’s play equipment. Local Omid Shah told The Mirror: “That park has always been trouble but this is evil. The police have got to sort this knife madness with the youth. It is out of control.”
Darrien’s death is the latest killing to shock the city after teens Max Dixon, 16, and Mason Rist, 15, were attacked and murdered in the Knowle West area of the city on January 27.
Police have been keen to dismiss any link between the incidents.
