BOLTON 3 CHARLTON 3

JOSH SHEEHAN believes Bolton must cut out the defensive mistakes that cost them two points against Charlton.

The Wales midfielder said: “We have set ourselves high standards from the start of the season and we dipped below what we expect.

“So it’s definitely two points dropped.

“We know we can come back when we go behind, but we can’t keep giving teams the leg up and give teams easy goals like we did today.”

DERBY COUNTY 1 STEVENAGE 0

PAUL WARNE told his Derby players to savour the moment after Louis Sibley’s 90th-minute winner clinched victory.

The Rams boss said: “It was quite emotional when Sibs scored, I quite enjoyed it. And then, at the final whistle, there are scenes you take with you for the rest of your life.

“I told the lads that 10 percent of their lives is as a professional footballer if they are lucky, so don’t waste a minute. And I don’t think we did.”

LINCOLN CITY 1 EXETER CITY 0

JOE TAYLOR was relieved to score his first Lincoln goal in his sixth game since arriving from Colchester.

The Imps striker said: “It’s been a long time coming but I’m over the moon to have finally got it.

“I’ve not lost since I’ve been in a Lincoln shirt and we are unbeaten in seven.

“We want to keep that going and we are looking up the table.”

Luton loanee Taylor coolly grabbed the winner for Lincoln on 67 minutes after being put through by Ted Bishop.

PORTSMOUTH 4 READING 1

COLBY BISHOP is worried team-mate Paddy Lane will catch him in the race to be Portsmouth’s top scorer.

Bishop is five goals clear after both players scored in Pompey’s win and he said: “Paddy’s on fire – I need to tell him to calm down because he’s catching me!

“No, I want him to score as many as he can. I wasn’t sure if the referee was going to blow up for my one. I looked at him and he shrugged his shoulders, so I thought, ‘Happy days’.”

NEIL HARRIS reckons his Cambridge forwards are finally showing belief in front of goal.

The U’s boss said: “I spoke to the attacking players and said, ‘When we do go forward, let’s really go with belief and pace, and the confidence we are going to take the ball into the area and an individual is going to finish it off’.

“Too many times we don’t quite have that selfbelief we are going to put the ball in the net, but today we did that.”

FLEETWOOD 1 BARNSLEY 2

DONOVAN PINES says he immediately felt at home after making his Barnsley debut.

The US centre-back said: “It was too surreal. I honestly never expected that. I was too focused warming up that I couldn’t hear them chanting ‘American boy’.

“Barry Cotter said, ‘Do you like what they are saying’, but I wasn’t paying attention. So I’m grateful they made me feel at home.”

Herbie Kane’s strike won it for the Tykes.

NORTHAMPTON 3 BRISTOL ROVERS 1

IAN SAMPSON says defender Sam Sherring summed up Northampton’s display that ended a fourgame winless run.

The Cobblers assistant boss said: “The players have shown great character all season and whenever we have had a setback they have come back really well.

“Sam was prepared to put himself on the line for us and you need those type of characters. He came off with a bit of cramp but hopefully will be OK.”

SHREWSBURY 0 WIGAN ATHLETIC 1

MATT SMITH reckons Wigan can put their recent dip behind them and start looking up the table again.

The Latics midfielder said: “It was a massive win for us. We needed that win and hopefully it can give us some confidence and keep us moving forward.

“After two defeats we needed that and we showed a different side of our game. We dug in and deserved the three points.”

Smith netted the Latics’ winner on 57 minutes when he slotted home a flick-on from a corner.

CHELTENHAM 3 PORT VALE 2

JACK SHEPHERD reckons he served up a striker’s finish when he volleyed home Cheltenham’s second goal.

The centre-back said: “It just fell for me nicely. I just wanted to nail it and get it on target, and it’s just come off. It’s a good three points.

“Sometimes we practice shooting before training and I’ve been saying to Liam Sercombe, I learned it from him. It’s a good finish.”

Vale had gone ahead but Darren Moore still finished on the losing side in his first game in charge.

LEYTON ORIENT 1 BURTON ALBION 2

MASON BENNETT believes the Burton strikers owe a huge debt to the team’s defenders.

The Brewers forward said: “You see every week the amount of blocks we get in games. You watch and you think, ‘How have you blocked that?’.

“It shows the character in the team. They put their bodies on the line and we need to get the goals for them to reap the rewards.”

Bennett netted Burton’s equaliser before Aristote Nsiala’s clincher.

PETERBOROUGH 1 BLACKPOOL 2

NEIL CRITCHLEY fears a Peterborough backlash when the two teams meet again tomorrow in the EFL Trophy semi-final at Bloomfield Road.

The Blackpool boss said: “Tuesday is a different game and Peterborough will be coming into it on the back of a defeat, which I’m sure they will want to put right.

“We’ll enjoy this win, but our eyes are now straight onto Tuesday with a chance to get to Wembley on offer, which is where we all want to get to.”

WYCOMBE 0 OXFORD 0

STEPHAN NEGRU insists a scoreless stalemate marked a well-earned point for play-off hopefuls Oxford.

The United defender said: “We usually struggle to get anything here, so it’s a point well-taken and we move on to Tuesday against Northampton.

“They only really threatened from set-pieces. I only remember a couple of saves in the first half.

“I thought we were really solid from front to back.”
