An omen? The last time Arsenal reached the quarter-finals, they beat Porto in the last 16. They lost the first game but won the return at the Emirates thanks to Nicklas Bendtner’s hat-trick. That was as good as it got for Bendtner and Arsenal as the Gunners lost to Barcelona 6-3 on aggregate in the last eight.
