IN A DEEP STATE OF MISTRUSS
Flop ex-PM blames Left for her failures
SHAMELESS Liz Truss yesterday blamed the “deep state” for causing her record shortest stint as Prime Minister.
On a trip to the US to speak alongside Donald Trump at a conference, Ms Truss claimed Left-leaning groups had secretly orchestrated her downfall.
The Tory warned the West is “doomed unless conservatives .. take on the institutions captured by the Left”. In a column published by Fox News, she claimed Left-wingers had infiltrated schools, university campuses and corporate boardrooms, and left them “infected with the dogma of wokeism”.
She blamed this for her being the most unpopular PM in British history.
Ms Truss wrote: “In too much of the free world, the Left has been in charge for too long and the results are all too plain to see. Their agents are only too active in public and private institutions and what we have come to know as the administrative state and the deep state.
“I saw this for myself first hand as they sabotaged my efforts in Britain to cut taxes, reduce the size of government and restore democratic accountability.”
Ms Truss will speak to Trump fans and Right-wing Republicans at this week’s CPAC conference near Washington DC today. Trump devotee Nigel Farage will address the faithful tomorrow, with the former President himself set to headline on Saturday.
Ms Truss was both the shortestserving and least popular Prime Minister in British history, leaving in disgrace after just 49 days in office.
On Tuesday, she addressed students at the Herbert Institute in Utah alongside Republican senator Mike Lee.
