MOYES IN NO RUSH FOR DEAL

- BY ALAN SMITH

WEST HAM v BRENTFORD

Prem: Monday, KO 8pm

DAVID MOYES will wait until the end of the season before deciding his West Ham future.

The Scot (above), who has been under increasing pressure from supporters following an eight-game winless streak, says a contract is on the table waiting to be signed.

But he wants to make certain he remains the right man for the job before committing.

“The club have offered me a new contract but we are in a position where we would rather just wait,” Moyes said.

“I want it to be right for the club and for me and my family. We are in a position where we are happy at this moment in time to just move along.

“We have important games, important European games, coming up, so we are happy to let it go.

“I’ve been asked this question since day one and said that I’m pretty cool, I’m not in a hurry.

“What I have said is that I will always honour my contracts, that is one thing I will do.

“My contract is to the end of the season, the club have offered me a new deal, and we will wait and see how that goes.”

The Hammers have been drawn to face German side Freiburg in the Europa League round of 16 – a team they beat both times in the group stages.

But Moyes doesn’t believe that will mean much when it comes to knockout football.

He added: “I don’t think it makes it any easier. The group was very tight, the games were close, I don’t see a huge difference.

“There are some huge teams in the competition – top of the English league, top of the German league – so you want to avoid them, but it is a tough game.”
