FIFE FLYERS coach Todd Dutiaume has warned his players to be wary of “desperate” Dundee Stars.

The Scots sides clash in Kirkcaldy tonight in the first of a weekend double header with second-bottom Stars in dire need of Elite League victories.

And Dutiaume said: “This could be make or break for Dundee’s season and we can’t become complacent.

“They will be playing desperate hockey.”

BASKETBALL: Gareth Murray hit 21 points as Glasgow Rocks strengthen­ed their hold on third place in the BBL last night by shaking off Cheshire Phoenix 95-82.

Sterling Davis’s men never trailed against the strugglers and eventually went as much as 14 clear after leading 44-32 at half-time.

But the hosts nearly blew the cushion when an 8-0 run cut their advantage to 69-67 with nine minutes left before sealing victory with a closing 9-1 burst.

Davis said: “In spells we were okay but we played poor defence in the third quarter. We can’t allow those lapses to happen. We’ve got to keep up the same level of intensity throughout.”

HOCKEY: Scotland lost the Test series against France when they went down 4-1 in the final match in Le Touquet.

CURLING: Sophie Jackson maintained her 100 per cent record with a third straight win at the World Junior Championsh­ips in Korea.
