No one is banning me from the funeral, I will be there for George...

FAMILY’S AGONY WAIT TO BURY STAR Lover rejects claim he is not welcome

GEORGE Michael’s partner yesterday hit back at claims he is banned from the star’s funeral and insisted he will be there.

Fadi Fawaz said it was a lie that the singer’s family do not want him at the ceremony, which has been delayed due to a problem with the toxicology test results.

The 43-year-old took to Twitter to deny the claim, writing in capitals to express his anger.

He wrote: “Let me make it clear that I’M NOT BANNED TO GO TO THE FUNERAL.

“None of it is true. IT’S NOT TRUE, NOT TRUE NOT TRUE NOT TRUE.”

Fadi also posted an image of George kissing him, with the caption: “This says it all.”

George’s friend Andros Georgiou, 54, last week claimed Fadi was not welcome at the funeral.

But photographer Fadi said: “George’s family are very loving, respectful and decent people.

“That someone who is saying all this rubbish about the funeral has not been part of George’s life for 19 years.”

It could be another four weeks before Fadi gets to say farewell to George as the delay in toxicology results mean the coroner cannot release his body.

That means his family will have waited 13 weeks since the 53-year-old’s death on Christmas Day before they are able to lay him to rest. The funeral is being organised by the musician’s sisters Melanie and Yioda.

Reports also claimed Fadi could be evicted from one of George’s homes where he has been living.

The former Wham! frontman, worth £100million, is set to have his assets frozen, which could mean the gas and electricity will be cut off.

Speaking from the £2.5million central London home yesterday, Fadi said: “It’s a very hard time.”

Fadi found George dead at the star’s house in Oxfordshire. He told emergency service operators he had tried to wake him for an hour before calling.

Police are treating the death as “unexplained” but “not suspicious”.
