C4, 10pm STAND-UP comedian Jon Richardson makes a living out of laughter but in reality he is absolutely terrified of everything.

Sinkholes, bathtubs, sausages, crime – something is going to kill him and he can’t stop worrying about it.

In this slightly tongue-in-cheek documentar­y, Jon’s equally fearful wife, comedian Lucy Beaumont, sends him off to investigat­e the things they are most scared of in the hope it will calm their nerves.

Especially now that Lucy is expecting their first child, and “part-time pessimist and full-time fatalist” Jon’s fears have gone into overdrive.

Over the course of his mission he spends a night in the woods with a survival expert to learn how to protect his family from terrorists.

He also meets a man so committed to making himself invincible that he test drives an indestruct­ible suit by strapping himself to a van and driving through a brick wall.

But the most astonishin­g scenes are when Jon meets a family in Dorset selling fresh air (I kid you not) for £80 a jar. They actually run around a field “catching” the air with nets.

STV, 9pm THIS glossy period drama, dubbed a sexier Downton, has seen us through the winter weeks and now it bows out with plenty of action that could point towards a second series.

As in pretty much every episode, there is an unwelcome visitor at the hotel tonight – one who sends the usually calm Garland (Steven Mackintosh) into a panic.
