Madrid giants join the race for Hoops hotshot
Spanish giants Real are latest to be linked with red hot Celtic striker
REAL MADRID are the latest Euro giant to join the growing list of clubs who want Celtic sensation Moussa Dembele.
The La Liga leaders are keeping a close eye on the French striker and have asked the Parkhead side to keep them informed of any possible moves for the 20-year-old.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are all keen to snap up Dembele
and yesterday our sister paper the Sunday Mail revealed that Bayern Munich also want to sign one of the hottest prospects in Europe.
Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane is a massive fan of Dembele and after he moved to Celtic last summer the World Cup winner admitted the Hoops kid was a superstar in the making.
He said: “Dembele is an exciting player potentially for France, he has shown what he is capable of. He is a big signing for Celtic.
“I like to follow the progress of exciting, young French players and I know that Bayern, Monaco and Juventus were all looking at him, so it’s big Celtic managed to sign him.
“He is still so young, he can look at another move in four or five years’ time and still then he’ll only be a very young guy”
But that move to a top European club could now be a step closer as the continent’s super powers line up in the megabucks chase for the striker.
Chelsea made an inquiry about Dembele during the January transfer window but Hoops bosses slapped a not-for-sale sign on the player, demanding £40million to ward off any interest in their star man.
However, Madrid are considering a mega-bucks move this summer for the man who cost the Bhoys just £500,000 from Fulham in the summer.
Dembele has hit 27 goals for Brendan Rodgers’ side this term and netted yet again in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Motherwell, his seventh goal in three games.
After his stunning Ibrox leveller in the 2-1 Hogmanay Old Firm win for Celtic, Zidane said he was keeping a close eye on the hitman’s development.
ZZ said: “Dembele is one of the most talked about young strikers in Europe but it hasn’t surprised me.”
