Millionaire moaner’s drink-drive-thru case left in disarray after someone destroys vital CCTV evidence

LOTTO moaner Jane Park’s drink-drive case was thrown into chaos yesterday.

Park, 21, had dashed back from Tenerife to Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

But it emerged crucial CCTV of the incident at a McDonald’s drive-thru had been destroyed. Her lawyer said he was

now seeking “details of the person” responsible.

Park had appeared in court to maintain her not guilty plea to drink driving at the drive-thru in Straiton Mains Road, Edinburgh.

She is accused of being three times the alcohol limit at the wheel of her BMW.

Just 17 when she won £1million in 2013 with her first ever lottery ticket, she recently threatened to sue lottery operators after claiming the win made her unhappy.

She will now stand trial over the charge next month.

She had to rush to get back to Scotland to make the court date after missing her booked flight home.

After the hearing, she declined to say how she had made her way home.

On Thursday, she tweeted about how she failed to make the plane after celebrating her beloved Hibs beating Edinburgh rivals Hearts.

She told her 15,000 followers on Twitter: “Went out n got melted n missed my flight.”

At a hearing two weeks ago, defence agent Stephen Mannifield asked for a further intermediate diet so he could view the CCTV.

He told the court: “The CCTV has been destroyed. It will require some further time in terms of getting the details of the person who destroyed the CCTV. I’m confident that can be done.”

Rosie Cook, prosecuting, said the matter would be investigated and the case is due to call again on March 8.

Park, who lives in Prestonfield, Edinburgh, is accused of giving a reading of 66 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath on October 8 last year. The limit is 22mg.

She was listed in court papers as Jane Restorick, her mum’s surname.

Earlier this month, Park said she planned to sue because someone her age shouldn’t have been allowed to win such a huge sum.

She later said she’d spoken to a lawyer but would not be going ahead with legal action.

She added that she achieved her aim of raising awareness of the dangers of striking it rich so young.

She said: “I feel like I have been listened to now and people are actually listening to the difficulties.”

In 2015, we told how Park got a job in a chippy because she was “bored spending money” after scooping the jackpot.
