THE girlfriend of missing Scots RAF gunner Corrie McKeague has shared a touching photo of the happy couple together, saying: “I miss you every day.”

Pregnant April Oliver posted the heartfelt message along with her favourite memories with the 23-year-old, who vanished after a night out in September.

April, 21, found out she was expecting the couple’s first child two weeks after Corrie vanished in Bury St Edmunds and announced the news publicly in January.

She has thanked the thousands of followers on the Find Corrie Facebook group for their support.

April wrote: “I’ve not posted before, partly because I’ve never felt I had the right words and also because I’ve had a lot of changes.

“But I wanted to thank every single member on this page from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you have given.

“The past months have been incredibly emotional and the support has been utterly amazing and enabled us to get answers we need.

“One of our favourite places to be was on the north Norfolk coast with the roof of the car down, singing silly songs and walking the dogs.

“I’d do anything to be back there. I miss you Corrie, every second of the day and night.”

April’s tribute came days after it was announced that the weight of a bin lorry which was in the area when Corrie disappeared had been under-recorded. Officers initially ruled out that Corrie ended up in the back of the truck because the load was weighed at just 11kg.

But it has since been revealed the truck actually weighed more than 100kg.

Officers and Corrie’s devastated family are now “confident” his body is at a landfill site near where his mobile phone last sent data on September 24.

The search near Milton, Cambridgeshire, is expected to take up to 10 weeks as a team of eight trained officers sift through 8000 tons of waste.

Detective Superintendent Katie Elliott, who has led the investigation, said: “I have a strong belief that we will find him here.”

After the tragic revelation, Corrie’s mum Nicola, 48, who lives in Dunfermline, said: “I think it would be quite unrealistic for me to presume that Corrie could still be alive.

“Just now my absolute focus is on trying to keep it together for long enough to find Corrie.”
