Scotland fit one-day tests into busy calendar
SCOTLAND have announced two one-day international fixtures against Zimbabwe in Edinburgh this summer.
The two matches, both at The Grange, will take place on June 15 and 17.
They complete a hectic mid-season fixture list that already includes an Intercontinental Cup clash with Namibia at Ayr from June 6-9 and two World Cricket League ties against those same opponents at the Edinburgh venue on June 11 and 13. CURLING: Eve Muirhead dragged herself back into title contention with two crucial victories at the World Championships in Beijing yesterday.
The Perth skip was facing elimination following three defeats but she responded by beating China’s Bingyu Wang and Swiss player Alina Paetz.
Muirhead defeated Wang 8-6 and she also collected a 7-4 win over Paetz. ATHLETICS: British chiefs have pledged to take as many athletes as possible to this summer’s IAAF World Championships in London rather than leave slots on the start line unfilled.
Performance director Neil Black said: “We will remain consistent with our philosophy of selecting a large and competitive team and help inspire the next generation of British stars.” BASKETBALL: Rocks head coach Sterling Davis has told his side to get ready to fight for their place in the top three over the closing month of the BBL campaign.
The American said: “We are entering a crucial stage of the season.”
